Performing Arts School At Site Of Paul Mccartney And John Lennon's First Gig

The Liverpool venue where Paul McCartney and John Lennon first performed together is to launch the stars of the future.

The old Clubmoor Conservative Club has become Jade Studios - a new performing arts centre, dance school and function suite.

Next week it will play host to Strictly Come Dancing star Robin Windsor, who will lead masterclasses for beginners and experienced dancers, as well as sharing his top tips in a Q&A.

It will be the first of many events at the centre, which was the spot where a young Paul McCartney made his debut with John Lennon’s band The Quarrymen on October 18 1957.
It is Liverpool dance teacher Louise Edge’s third school across the city - last year Jade School of Dance performed in London’s west end. She says: “Jade Studios - at the Conny Club - a new performing arts centre, dance school and function suite - where John and Paul first played together and where the stars of tomorrow shine. It’s a historic place with an exciting future.”

She plans to develop the Beatles heritage with a blue plaque and a series of fab four events to come.
